What similarities do you see in a dog's eyes and elephant's eyes?

Despite these being two very different species, when I look into the eyes of both, I notice a deep sense of wisdom and knowing, their ability to comprehend, contemplate, and experience a wide range of emotions that we can pick up on if we are willing.  They say one’s eyes are the windows to the soul and if we look closely at the photo, we get a glimpse of their story, of who these beings truly are.

If you are the kahu (guardian of a dog, cat, bird, rabbit, or turtle…), take a moment to look into their eyes, connect with their heart, and notice what they are expressing. You’ll gain a deeper connection with them, a deeper understanding of how they are feeling. Conversely, stare into the eyes of a loved one or friend. Every being has a story to tell.
